Savaria Handicare 1000 Outdoor Stairlift
Designed for Island Living: Safe, Weather-Resistant Outdoor Mobility
At Ohana Stairlifts, we believe nothing should stop you from enjoying every part of your home—from your lānaʻi down to the garden or lower entryways. The Savaria Handicare 1000 Outdoor Stairlift helps you and your ʻohana enjoy greater independence and peace of mind.
Whether you’re enjoying your outdoor spaces on Oʻahu, navigating hillside steps on Maui, or making entryways more accessible on Kauaʻi or Hawaiʻi Island, the Handicare 1000 is designed to provide a smooth, quiet ride.
We assess your staircase, weather exposure, and proximity to saltwater to confirm the right outdoor solution for your home.
Key Features Built for Hawaii’s Elements
- Weather-Protected Anodized Rail: A hidden gear rack sits inside an anodized aluminum track to help protect working components from weather and debris.
- UV Protection & Outdoor Materials: UV-protected components, zinc-coated hardware, and a weather-resistant Slate vinyl seat are designed for outdoor use.
- Reliable Battery Operation: Batteries charge automatically at the top and bottom of the stairs. A charged lift can provide a limited number of trips during a power outage; available travel depends on battery charge and condition.
- Space-Saving Design: Fold the seat, armrests, and footrest up when not in use to keep more of the stairway open for family and guests.
- Includes Protective Cover: An outdoor weather cover helps protect the chair between uses.
Custom Comfort & Safety
- Capacity to Suit Your Needs: Standard capacity is 350 lb. Ask our team about available higher-capacity configurations and suitability for your outdoor installation.
- Manual Swivel Seat: Turn and lock the seat toward the top landing for easier entry and exit.
- Folding Seat, Armrests & Footrest: Manual folding features help keep your outdoor stairs accessible when the lift is parked.
- Obstacle Detection: Safety sensors stop the lift when they detect an obstruction.
Our team will help you choose the right configuration for your staircase and mobility needs.
